On Monday, April 25, Dana Morse hosts a discussion on Maine Farm Service Agency and University of Maine Cooperative Extension financing and crop protection programs that may be of interest to shellfish aquaculture producers, at the UMaine Hutchinson Center in Belfast at 5.30 p.m. 

On Tuesday, Maine Audubon, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, and Hancock County Soil and Water District host a workshop for the public on the “Stream Smart” method of making local roads safer and restoring local stream habitat, at the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn at 6 p.m.

Maine Sea Grant is sponsoring the Ocean Technology in New England & Atlantic Canada meeting, 27-28 April in Orono.

Wednesday, Communications Director Catherine Schmitt leads a workshop for Acadia National Park interpretive staff on communicating about climate change.

UMaine News features Dr. Aria Amirbahman and graduate research assistant Libby Gorse, who are studying the effects of aquaculture farms on nearby sediments. The research is part of the SEANET project, with supplemental funding from Sea Grant
